“New” knives for review
In the past week I have received 3 knives that I will be reviewing shortly and wanted to share a little about what is coming. I also have a at least 2 more knives that should be discussed, so my posts will likely be more knife focused in the next few weeks, but will still contains a fair bit of training, competition and hopefully some more analysis of self-defense stories too.
The first knife in the photo is the well-known Becker BK2 Companion. It is a very large and rugged fixed blade field knife that come surprisingly sharp.
The second is a stag handled knife made by my father before I was born.
The third is a 10yo+ Dunn Predator with rosewood grips.
In addition to these knives I want to discuss an Ethiopian Gile knife that was brought back and given to me by a good friend as a thank you for lending him some gear for his mission trip and a very early One-piece Chris Reeve’s knife that I keep in my get home kit.
If you are looking for some good knife content more immediately, check out Tuesday’s episode of the Personal Armament podcast titled “How to select a knife as a defensive tool – with Michael Janich.” In the episode Michael discusses his back ground, philosophy and describe what he thinks makes a good defensive knife.
